confused...

I thought I had a handle on the model breakdown, but a quick quesiton: is every single maxima se from 1992 to 1994 a ve30? I keep reading "in 1992 the new double cam ve30 was introduced..." but I thought I had a 92 vg30 se. i know this has prob. been asked 14,000 times in the last year, but I searched on google and i'm just looking for a quick answer. thanks.

You might have your car a little confused.

1989-1994 GXE has the VG30E
1989-1991 SE has the VG30E
1992-1994 SE has the VE30DE

The guy you might have bought the car from did a 5-speed swap, and put SE tails on it. Or you're just a little confused about the tail coloring.

Parts ordering... that can be a fun adventure in itself...

I was checking around on prices for new axles for mine. I had looked in the haynes, and it said the was 2 different styles, 1 for manual, 1 for auto.

I actually had this place ask me if my car was Fuel injected... or Carb?

yeah, I know what you mean. Sometimes it is nice to talk to a knowledgeable human being, as opposed to a computer or someone taking orders through a computer.

I have nine years of parts selling experience. I've heard ALL the horror stories. The 92 SE I have does have the de engine in it and a lot of books don't list it for that car. Closest match..... 3000gt

I went to an Advance Auto Parts where I got an old guy who insisted that there was no such animal as a DHOC engine for a Maxima. I had to show him my car before I could get to the point where he said: "Oh, we can't get parts for that..." Talk about screaming in frustration.

I live in backwoods Alabama. The closest dealership is about 40 miles away and they've been less than helpful in the past. Not sure where else I can go.

BTW, I'll be ordering those hood struts this weekend. The guy at the dealership doing my oil was having a fun time with it closing on him That was the quickest I ever got my car back.

The 4x4 D21 90-94 had an option of the VG30I also. And they made a few, very few 4x2 D21 those years with it as well. They mostly came with the extended cabs.
