Newer varieties of VG's

I was looking at a Nissan motor code site (cant recall URL) but the VG was used in a bunch of stuff into the 90's i saw...
well my question is do those newer blocks have the same bolt hole locations for the motor mounts n stuff?
Like the VG33 could that block be swapped in place of a VG30?
Did the VG in its newer variety come in a DOHC setup?
And what about the new Supercharged VG in the Frontier...anyone got any swapping info on this?
sorry for so many questions but that site got me thinking

A VG33 CAN be swapped in there, but the performance gain to $$ ratio is bad. NOt worth it unless you totally rebuild internals and turbocharge.
as for your other ?'s i dunno. The S/C Frontier only has 210hp, far improvement from the 160 but i heard it's rather slow. IS the Frontier that much hevier than the max? Don't know the specs so can't tell yuh, but it would fly either way. With the Supercharger ontop of the manifold i don't think if would all tuck under the hood anyways.

Didn't the VG33 used in the Nissan Quest? My parents had a (first year piece of sh*t) Quest with the 3.3L V-6 with something like 170hp...it sucked...within the first year the exhaust manifold studs had to be replaced...peeice of crap...

the frontier
Yea I heard the Frontier is pretty heavy, especially for a small truck...and very heavy in 4x4 setup. What problems would you run into with a truck motor? I imagine it'd be setup differently to pull stuff or whatever, where are the gear ratios set, in the computer? That'd have to be re-programmed so you're into big bucks for 210 prolly. A little while back didn't someone say turbo VG's were being sold and could be dropped in?

yeah, the VG30DET out of the turbo Z can be dropped in...im beginning to think it would be the most cost-effective go-fast mod for a maxima too. although you probably couldnt use an auto trans with it because of comptuer stuff(which is a prob for me hehe)

the VG33 was used in some of the old hard bodies and pathfinder, there more truck tuned with alittle more torque and less HP but that's what a JWT is for with the ECU programming.
the VG-T swap is the most cost effective by far. And Foo, you can use an auto with them. Just gotta do abit of building up.

VG30DE & T
The VG30DE/VG30DETT engines are too wide to fit in the 3rd gen Max. Hence that's why the VE30DE engines are in the 92-94 SEs.
As for applications (U.S.)
VG30E - 2nd/most 3rd gen Maximas, Hardbody Trucks, Pathfinders, 1st gen 300ZX, 1st gen Nissan Quest/Mercury Villager, 1st gen Infiniti I30 and 1987-88 Nissan 200SX (almost forgot)
Note, there were different VG30 engines. Quest/Villager/2nd gen Maximas and hardbodies only had 145-151 HP. Only the 3rd gen Maxima, Infiniti I-30 (this may had 161 HP), 200SX and 300ZX had 160 HP.
VG30ET - 1st gen 300ZX turbo
VG30DE - 2nd gen 300ZX, Infiniti J30
VG30DETT - 2nd gen 300Z turbo
VG33E - Nissan Frontier, early 2nd gen Pathfinder, early Infiniti QX4, 2nd gen Nissan Quest/Mercury Villager
VG33E with a blower - New Nissan frontier
