Catalytic converters question

I have to replace my converter and I was wondering other than the WSP converter what other converters are good to use with the 2.5" Y-pipe and 2.25" cat-back? Also the converter I was looking at is by Catco and is universal but it doesnt have the o2 bung. Would I have any problems with it if I have an o2 bung welded into the converter?

You could just weld a bung into the b-pipe right after the cat converter, Budgetexhaust has a few cat converters. Chances are though, that if your cat failed and you don't fix whatever made it fail, the new one will fail as well. Unless of course it's just age related.

It's been on the car for 10 years and it's the stock cat. I doubt running the stock cat with the 2.5" y-pipe can't be good for it right? I'm going to change the o2 sensors, fuel pump, fuel filter, and spark plugs next month. Anybody have any good cat converters they recommend ?

I bought the car about a month ago and I figured I rather be safe than sorry. When I bought my first Max it was a 91 and "supposedly" all maintanence had been done on the car or a regularly scheduled basis. Then a month later the timing belt broke so I'm very precatious with my Maxima.

Do all of the aftermarket cats add more noise than the OEM cat? I wouldn't mind replacing mine, but I don't want the added noise at all. Thanks.

do not get the WSP, o2 bung is on a cocked angle, and every time you go on a speed bump or tablet, your downstream o2 will get destroyed. get a cat for a 97-99 and then upgrade to a 97-99 type b-pipe and muffler.

If you are willing to use parts from other makes and doing some customizing, I could give you a 3" cat for 100 bucks. And it works great. *shrug*
