Urethane and Delrin Suspension Bushings: Experiences?
Urethane and Delrin Suspension Bushings: Experiences?
It's time for me to re-bush the suspension on my '93 SE. I'm going to do this as I replace the struts, ball joints, and tire rod ends, etc. I'm betting new OEM bushings will make a difference, but I might be interested in firming things up a bit. I see that Courtesy has bushings for the rear, and I'm sure there are other sources for front and rear. What I want to know is:
How noticable is the difference in handling/feel?
How much harsher is the ride?
Is there any sign of binding?
Do these things need constant lubricating like my rear sway bar bushings- are they squeaky- do they wear out quickly?
Can you recommend a source for these bushings? What type of material?
Everyone wants tighter handling, but I like the way the car rides now and don't want it to change that much. Those of you who have/have had these bushings, your experience will be helpful.

If you want better handling then you should definitely go with urethane bushings, You can find ones for the front control arm from Matt93se. I got the rear ones from a friend so you are on your own with those. I just took it to my friends shop and had them pressed in a few min. The best part is firmness when you come to a complete stop.
