G35 rims pics (56k, get a drink while it loads)

Well first off i got intrax springs with tokico struts.
I finally got the rims put on after i had some body work done(ive had the tires balanced and on the rims for over a week).

ive got high res (3megapixels) pics at my gallery site at

little story behind getting these finally put on:
the first problem i had was that discount tire treated me like crap, so i asked for my money back and left, they scared me into thinking they wouldnt fit, but jeff told me his stang wheels are 17x8 with the same offset (30mm) so i was all confused. then i went somewhere else to get a second opinion and they said that the one wheel rubbed. it turned out to be where i had an accident and it wasnt fixed properly so i got that fixed and they are now mounted.

as for the tires i went with 235/40/18 kuhmo asx (all season, but light snow) performance tires and im really satisfied with them so far. they are very quiet and get good grip on the road. i got a great deal on them as well with a price of 560 for all 4 out the door with pro-rated warranty.

enough babble. here are the pics.

here is the gallery

That looks nice. Did you get two front wheels?

no, let me clear that up, alot of people think the rims are staggered. its the tires that are staggered. back tires are 245/45/18 and fronts are 225/45/18 making the rear tires wider (same goes for the 350z rims) for stock g35 tires. thanks for the complement. hope you get those cefiro lights lookin tight!

The rims look great. Possibly the best looking "stock" rim I have ever seen on a 3rd gen.

Are you sure that poor VG has enough power to get those huge things moving?

You also need to straighten out your passenger side foglight and in the first pic, the E36 on the passenger side looks crooked, too.

poor VG yeah right. they are a bit heavier but i really didnt notice a difference, except that all kinds of heads turned, hehe.

as for my headlights, they suck at staying put and they dont aim correctly so im gonna flush mount them this summer. and the fogs, well they suck too, because they are both broke from rock shots. so ill get new ones sometime soon i remember courtesy nissan has them for 30 bucks.

thanks for the compliments guys.

U should look into some tint, It would really set ur car off. i just finished my tint on my car and after some practice on my other friends car i got my windows to come out to near perfection. Dont let other people fool you about self tinting, its all in the prep-work

Wow! that makes your car look mean, in a good way. I had my doubts on how they would look just because if they looked soooo good on the G35 how could it be anywhere close on another car.... but they look awesome!

I just noticed what I typed in I meant did you get 4 front wheels because of the low RWD offset or did you buy a regular set (2 fronts and 2 rears). The cefiro will be finished hopefully within the next two months lol.

that intrax drop looks sooo good. I wonder if Eibach really was the way for me to go. I agree with red, those wheels are superior to any other stock wheel put onto a Maxima. Including mine Congratulations on having it all put together. Enjoy your sportscar.

that looks really good triple, especially with the drop, good work

too bad you're not putting those ve tails on your car, i think itd turn the whole thing around, if you made your car a ve clone (with the exception of the stupid sticker on the bottom of the doors) it would look awesome, as well as some tint/corners to match the headlights

good job!

Well i think the VE tails look great on Black, blue, super white and the emerald green. but it just didnt look right with my accent color on the bottom. i hope to paint my calipers, cai and custom grille im making all that same accent color. Im also going to have michael tint my corners sometime soon and ill be flush mounting my headlights, but thats alot of work.

anyway just want to thank everyone for their compliments.

Nice, I might try and find a set for mine.

But I must confess I can't hold it any longer. I betrayed Nissan. I bought a 02 Toyota Highlander today. Nissan just couldn't compete. We drove everything they had.

Oh well... It's the wife's SUV. NOW I HAVE FULL UNRESTRICTED ACCESS TO THE MAX!!!!!!!!!!! Lets see, my new list

Hoodscoop
Konis
Eibach (the guy sold his Spec V so I can't do the coilovers anymore)
Plenty of Blehmco goodies
17" rims
New subwoofer
Sarona Design kit (the extension, not the replacement)
New paint job
JWT Cams
ECU
Pistons
New leather (mine's kind of old)

Possibilities

auto climate
HUD
E36

car looks awesome. rims, wider tires, and a slight drop are key to making a 3rd gen look cool. are the rims heavy/expensive?

But wider tires makes it so you can take corners faster, so you dont have to slow down as much, so then you dont have to accelerate as much to get back up to speed... which then reduces gas consumption.

shall I add in the additional rotational mass, which can adversly affect the very handling you are trying to improve?

i thought wider tires make handling worse on front wheel drive cars

increases understeer I believe

I would think the wider tires would reduce understeer because of more rubber in contact with the ground it just seems like it wouldnt slip as much.
