92 SE flooding the engine
92 SE flooding the engine
Hello guys,
just bought a new maxima from a guy on the org. The car is flooding really bad up to a point of not running. I now he changed the fuel pressure regulator but the problem is still there. Has anybody experienced a similar situation with a ve? Any input/hint will be apreciated! Thank you in advance

Otherwise there might be fault in the injector sealings; if it floods while ign on...
I had the same problem a while back after a head gasket replacment. The O-rings on one of the injectors were leaking (not holding back the pressurized fuel in the rail)
When you change the injector O-ring`s , be sure to lube the fuel rail injector seat with a lot of vasaline, if not, the small O-ring on the tip of the injector will rip or flip up and cause the leak.

Thanks again. The car is currently at a shop and I am waiting for the verdict today. I've changed injectors in my VG a couple of times as well as other maximas. What I learned from all the experience I have on cars is that 50% of the time it's better to bring it to a shop. It's cleaner for you and saves you all the guessing for what's wrong plus al the extra parts that changed trying to solve a problem. May be I am getting old and tired of having my hands in oil...Anyways, I have never worked on the VE. I'll see what they have to say and if it's up to $200-300 to get the car running I am paying it right away...We'll see...

... does not matter; no schema for MAF available, top $ecret.
Edit: just checked out the wires from schema.
Except when the shop screws it up twice. That's what happened with my maxima. I blew an injector and had to take to a local shop because I was in TN with family but lived in Chicago. All of my tools were there as well. Took them 4 days to get the problem solved and even then, it was messed up before I got back to chicago. I had to tear it all down and do it again.
MAF is simply a thermoresistor. More air blows by - cooler it is - different resistance. Should not be too hard to find the function curve and pick a similar part from digikey or a local electronic surplus store.
