Service Engine Soon

The "Service Engine Soon" light came on at 30,000 miles on my 2002 Maxima SE. The manual mentions a couple things to do and it might go away after a few trips. Has anyone experienced the same? The car's performance is great and I see haven't experienced any problems. I take good care of the car and only use premium fuel. Should I get it to the dealer right away?

Does anyone know what P1130 stand for? I know it means Swirl Control Valve Controle Solenoid Valve. But how are you suppose to change it? I can't find any posts or parts for it.

I've got the "Service Engine Soon" lamp on with the error code PO155. It belongs to the O2 sensor heater. Do I simply replace the sensor? I measured the impedance to be 6 ohms. The book says that it should be somewhere between 2 and 4 ohms? Anyone had the same problem? Any suggestions?

If it's out of spec, what does that mean? If I go to the store to pay for my gum and the total is 1.25 and I have a 1.10, that usually means theres a problem. You need a new sensor.

Hey, thanks for your quick response and for the clarification... I plan on replacing it this evening.

I guess my point was that is the slight change in resistance a valid failure mode? Normally, a heating element (resistor) has one of two failure modes, either fails open or short. I was wondering if anyone has come across a O2 sensor failure of this type?

Mark2,

I hope you removed the sensor when you measured the resistance. You would get the wrong reading if it's in an active circuit.

One thing you may want to check is the gas cap. It was suggested on this website. I walked by my car today and smelled gas. I bought a new gas cap and reset my ECU. So far no SES light!
