Service Engine Soon
Service Engine Soon
The "Service Engine Soon" light came on at 30,000 miles on my 2002 Maxima SE. The manual mentions a couple things to do and it might go away after a few trips. Has anyone experienced the same? The car's performance is great and I see haven't experienced any problems. I take good care of the car and only use premium fuel. Should I get it to the dealer right away?
I've got the "Service Engine Soon" lamp on with the error code PO155. It belongs to the O2 sensor heater. Do I simply replace the sensor? I measured the impedance to be 6 ohms. The book says that it should be somewhere between 2 and 4 ohms? Anyone had the same problem? Any suggestions?
If it's out of spec, what does that mean? If I go to the store to pay for my gum and the total is 1.25 and I have a 1.10, that usually means theres a problem. You need a new sensor.

I guess my point was that is the slight change in resistance a valid failure mode? Normally, a heating element (resistor) has one of two failure modes, either fails open or short. I was wondering if anyone has come across a O2 sensor failure of this type?
