Where is the Amp?

We bought a used 02 SE a couple of years ago. The stereo sounded pretty decent until last week. I'm not sure if it's BOSE or not because there is no BOSE insignia anywhere on the radio. The problem is that it sounds distorted now. At first I thought I had a blown speaker but I tried adjusting fade and ballance to listen to all the speakers individually and and all sounded the same. Do I have a bad H/U or a bad amp? Where is the amp located?

Thanks for your help.

if it were a bose, it would have a 6 in-dash CD changer and it would say 'BOSE' where you insert the tape....the amp is located underneath the back deck...i've had mine replaced twice now because the left speakers would cut out, and when they did this, the sound did sound a bit distorted...

Thanks. So it's not a Bose. because mine is not a changer and no Bose printed on the tape player. I'll look to see if the amp is there anyway.

i meant under the deck that rattles like crazy where you see the BOSE sub mounted when you look inside the trunk at the top...both the sub and the amp are mounted there...for non-bose stereos, i don't even think there is one...
