Whipping sound..

whats up....I just did the GAB not too long ago and teh car sounded alot better and all but recently my cars behavior changed a little and this is my first car and all. When I cruise at normal speed and the car is shifting into like 2nd or 3rd gear around 3rpms for a split second it almost feels like its deccelerating, then it shifts. It feels like the transmission is slipping a little bit but it only does it at that time when its shifting into 3rd...1-2 is fine and smooth ...any clue what could be wrong?
And (from a complete stop)under heavy acceleration if I let up on the pedal at around 5-6 rpms i get like a loud whipping sound going into 2nd gear(sort of like a clank) any ideas on what that could be?..im puzzled and i dont have a warranty on the car(BTW its auto)

It can be a number of things. 1. Solenoid pack for the transmission, which is located directly behind the transmission fluid pan, is bad 2. Extremely dirty transmission fluid. If the solenoid pack is the problem the step after that is to check the tranny fluid condition. If the fluid is black and smells burned than my friend you need a transmission. If the tranny fluid is clean and does not smell burned, than all you need is a solenoid pack. A technician would actually have to drive the vehicle to experience the issue while it happens to accurately diagnose the problem. Good luck!!!
