Look under my rear valve cover

Was replacing some of the valve cover gaskets this weekend - here are some pics of the cams, etc.

Not sure what (if anything) to deduce from it... any comments?

it looks like a rat crawled in your cams (via air intake perhaps) and got turned into soup.

don't know what you mean... if you mean why did I do it? I had oil in the spark plug chamber for cylinder #5.. the spark plug tube seal had cracked... I have plenty of pics of all that stuff if anyone is interested.

What? If you are talking about the rest of the engine bay - ya - lots of stuff corroding - and I try to keep it as clean as time allows.. but the car is 10 yrs old - and been through as many midwest winters.... salt really does a number on cars around here!

Yup. Getting some of the hoses off and bolts was a b**** from the corrosion and rust... now I just gotta put things back together.
