climate control not working

hey guys just recently i have been having a problem with my climate control panel. it seems to work when it wants to like today i drove to a friend house and it works, then drop my friend off at interview and then go to turn it on and nothin (no lights come on on the panel and no fan). then i get home and it works again. This is what happens everyday but in no certain pattern just like whenever it feels like working. So i am wonderin what it could be?

man, you do not need to buy another one. Nissan was way too cheap when ordered the PCBs for the 3d gen, they are prone to the cold solder joints. All you need is to resolder the PCB, probably with a magnifying glass or just blindly resolder everything, specially around the buttons and connectors. That includes the clock, auto AC and DRL control modules.

Does anyone know where I can find a how to on re-soldering the joints? Not actually how-to solder, but mainly how-to take the unit out of the dash and dissassemble the actual board from the HUD....because I can't seem to figure out how-to to that....thanks.

EDIT: Figured out how to separate the board from HUD.....the joints the the board look decent though to me. I'm not an expert though so could someone tell me what to look for? Thanks.

You can't always tell a bad solder joint by looking at it, especially if you dont have a lot of experience in electronics. Sometimes it's obvious and the joint has small cracks, but it can be too small to see. Get some flux and resolder all the joints so you can be sure it'll be good.

Well re-soldering didn't work....it seemed to even make it worse.... Does anyone know where I can pick up another unit for cheap? eBay currently has nothing and I'm getting a quote from car-part.com. Anyone else have any other links for a good price (under $50)? Thanks.
