i heard that pacesetter rusts within a year. being that you're in ny n gets as much snow as i do, i wouldn't suggest it. think about this. 2 cheap exhaust = more than one good exhaust. if you dun wanna spend the money, then just wait for someone to sell their used one. i waited n now i'm getting mine for trade. i'm giving him my stock n he's giving me his aftermarket cause he needs his car to be back to stock. -= )

Pacesetter = Crap, you do get what you pay for. It'll rot out within a year or so.

.

He's talking about a STS (Short Throw Shifter), not exhaust

I would like to know as well because I'm in the market for a STS.

i have the pace setter sts, i like it alot. it is adjustable, and is it shorter than stock(even though i still cut some off). It is much cheaper than the B&M which is not adjustable. The B&M though is alittle more stronger making it not as notchy as the pacesetter. It was deffently worth the $50 i spent on it. Both ther PS and B&M have their advantages just choose how much you wanna spend.

i have PS, and ive tried B&M. i still like mine. They both move the shifter close to the console, they both are stiff, but B&M is just to stiff and too short of a throw.

I've had my Pacesetter STS for 2.5 years and have had absolutely no problems with it. Maybe I lucked out with a well-made one?

any troubles with hitting the dash part with a hard throw? does that only happen on 5spd conversions where the interior dash part is not switched out, or are there certain shifters that just often hit it? if so, which ones do?

I have the pacesetter sts...it came on my parts car, and i'm in the process of doing the manual swap...how do you adjust it? can you adjust it so the shifter doesnt hit the console trim during hard shifts?

there is a plastic pivot ball that spins on the threads. when the ball is all the way up its at the shortest setting. ball all the way down is the longest. mine is at the shortest setting and has about 1 cm (maybe less) between 1st and 3rd with the trim. i havent tried other settings but i would assume a longer throw would hit the trim. i really want to bend my shifter back and to the left. 5th is kind of a reach for me.

Mine does not hit the trim but comes close. I wonder if you could install it backwards, that might be a dumb idea but when I replace my cat I am going to try it. Just because it is alittle notchy does not mean it sucks.....
