I just spoke with somebody at Lime Rock Race track
in northwestern CT about renting the track out for a day
- not to race, but just for some track time…

This is what I found out:
- To drive on the track you need a helmet, driving suit and roll bars…
- Track Rental - $ 6,000
- Track Insurance - $2,500
- 7 corner workers [$125 each] - $875
We would also need to rent flags and radios and I don't know what…

total - $9,375 ok so call it 10k

So, for one person, this would be kind of expensive
but for a hundred people, it would only be a $100 each

I've got an old suit and helmet
[don't know if they would still be valid]
no roll cage though.

Anyway, I was wondering if we could get enough people interested/committed.
Maybe invite some Z and Altima drivers along to fill out the spots?
The more people, the less it costs each,
but the less track time you'll get
[or maybe it's just more crowded?].

One caveat:
No days are available this year
Between the BMW and other clubs and Skip Barber driving school
the days are pretty much all spoken for.
We would be on a waiting list.
It isn't hopeless, but it isn't going to happen this summer either.
Gives me time to save for a roll bar…

So - who's interested?
