Parking lights fuse/relay?

All of my parking lights suddenly went out-- side markers, clearence lights, and rear tails. The brake lights work as well as the headlights/signals/fogs. I took a look at some fuses and they looked good, but I didn't find one specific to this system. Is there a special fuse for the parking light (first click on the lights control) or a relay for it? Anyone have this problem before?

Any suggestions are appreciated.

It could be the stalk/switch assembly has called it a day...

I thought that too, but the lights on the instrument panel come on even though none of the parking lights are one. The other thing I noticed was that the little beep that comes on when you leave your lights on with the door opens doesn't come on anymore. Curious.

Then we're back to the fuse theory... re-check all the fuses. The labelling may not be obvious - so just check them all. Be sure to check the fuses in the engine bay too.

Sounds like a plan. I'll do that now.

Ha, that didn't take too long. Fuse number 5 on the fuse box. Thanks so much for the help man.

check all the fuse with an multimeter just ground the ground and go from there. i use a probe that connects to the battery using +/-. it tells you everything with the probe if the fuse is bad it will just some ground.

I don't understand this last procedure from Alpimax99 describing how to use the multimeter to check fuses. Is a long lead from the multimeter to the battery needed? Could someone clarify? Thanks.

I don't think English was his first language. Maybe not his second either!

If you have a DMM with continuity check as a feature, take out each fuse one at a time and put each probe on one of the two legs at the same time. You will get a light or a tone if it is good. Remember to touch the two probes together at first to make sure it is set right and works. Sometimes we can't see very small breaks/burns. No light or tone.... REPLACE.

Thanks for the procedure. Something basic, but I didn't know how to do this.
