Tranny cold shifting

I've read through the auto tranny threads, and at this point don't know if I should be worried. When the tranny is cold, the 1 - 2 shift takes a long time (long = 2x normal) under 1/2 or more throttle. But once the tranny warms up after five minutes of driving, it shifts perfectly even under WOT.

The dealer replaced the VB under warranty, but no change. Is this actually a problem, or just normal cold tranny performance? I don't recall the tranny acting like this when new...?

Thanks!

If my memory serves me right, I believe my 03 has always had a long 1-2 shift when cold. The first or sometimes second 1-2 shift would take longer than normal. I don't think you have anything to worry about as all the auto trannys I've had/driven have a longer shift when the vehicle is cold.
I know how you feel with not remembering that happening when new. I'm currently having my tranny looked at by the dealer. It likes to give a little Shift shock, which I don't remember being there when my max was new, but what they are calling "normal".

Get a VB mod. This is not the first time I've heard of a vb being replcaed and still giving problems. Mine was being extra from 1-2 but normal on all others. Since then I've put in a Stage II.5 VB, and haven't looked back.
