What do you guys think about this package?

title says it all

http://www.bestbuy.com/site//olspage...2&type=product

2 12s, amp, box( i have no time to build my own)
it's going to cost around 300 bucks installed for me because the rest is birthday present from parents.

In no way am i looking for show perfect sound, i just want to shake shyat. What do you guys think of this package? I just basically want to know if i'll be able to shake things with this, and if it'll work with the stock bose system, since i know the speakers are self powered and the HU doesnt sent power, just the signal. Please respond quickly, because i'll be getting this tommorow morning if you people approve.

Oh yeah, im keeping everything else stock in my car, 98 with BOSE. Not changing the HU or speakers, its going to be way over my budget, plus i actually like the BOSE.

you'll shake things in your trunk and some things inside the cabin, but don't bet on shaking things outside the car with that. i guess for 300, it's not bad.

I've heard that setup before, except that it was with a vented box. Sounds really nice, and the vented box will help you shake everything a lot more than the sealed.

Vented box? Isn't that basically a box with a hole in it (sorry don't know the terminology)? If so, can i just cut a hole in the box thats included in the package?

I'm looking to shake things, but i also want good quality though. I'd take quality over shaking things, and wouldn't a vented box reduce the quality? Sorry for the noob questions, I don't know much about audio.

Also, would this work correctly w/o trouble with the BOSE?

And if anyone is able to recommend anything else under 450 bucks, including everything, you are welcome to post.

Yay... edumacation time

here's a pic a dual vented box. you could cut a couple of holes for ports... but not recommended

If tuned right, you'll get the same quality of a sealed box with a vented one. Plus the fact it's in your trunk, you won't need that much quality as if it where my old setup.

For the Bose... you'll need a LOC (line out converter) This allows you to splice into your speaker wires, and change it over to RCA cables for your amp.

Now if you want to shake things up... try my new setup.

If you talk to your local Memphis dealer right, you could get this banging setup

-12" Memphis PR subwoofer w/ vented box $130ish
-MC500D Memphis amp $320ish
-wiring (free if you're dealer is cool) or around $60-90 depending upon wiring size. I recommend you don't skimp on wiring.

This will pound, and sound great. I've gotten Smashing Pumpkins to sound awesome on this setup.

Is this the Line Out Converter you are talking about?
http://www.pricegrabber.com/user_sal...lot_id=1127669
If so, is this one OK or is there anything better/cheaper?

I don't think i'll be able to afford that Memphis setup because the $450 has to include everything, even installation. Will the trunk lid/license plate rattle so it sounds ghetto if i get the Rockford Fosgate setup? Thanks for the edumacation BTW!

Yep, that's a LOC. As for better? not quite sure. I forgot which one I have. A person to ask that would be Don (pearl96max)

a way to get rid of that rattle would be to get some weather stripping, and line the back of the plate. and then tighten all the screws. Add 2 at the bottom if you have to just make sure you have 4 holding it down.

Plus, ask don if he has anything that could get you in your budget. We have links for how to install equipment, and you could save yourself money that way.

Ok thank you. I will PM pearl96max and ask about my other options.
About the install...I know i'll break something if i try to do it myself, and even if i don't break anything, it's going to look really bad with wires everywhere. Also there's a chance of fire if i install!
