Sirius Question

OK, I am ready to get my OEM receiver and get my Sirius all hooked up. I am looking at Grubbs Performance. Which antenna should I get? Any difference? There is an OEM reciever on eBay that I was looking at, too.....6 mos old. But, as much as I have bought and sold on eBay, this is one item I am a bit hesitant to bid on.

Any thoughts on all of the above?

Jane

get the Mini Terk. Unless you don't care about size, just get the cheapest you can find. I bought mine from Crutchfield through Amazon.com for $40 while it was backordered.

I would not buy that off eBay. How do you know it will work on the Max? As far as I know, the Tuners (receivers) are different. Get it from Grubbs. You also get 3 free months and $285 is a good price. Install is simple. You may need to get a splitter to connect the antenna, so ask Grubbs if it comes with it.

OEM Antenna Kit

Any reason you don't want to use the factory antenna kit? I bought that at the same time as my OEM receiver and it works great. I had it mounted on the trunk lid and think it looks fine there.

only thing i have against it is that it's huge. The mini is a lot smaller. So how did you mount it on the trunk? b/c the aluminum trunk lid is non-metalic.

I used the "factory" unit and mounted it at the rear of the roof as suggested. I had it painted to match the car (spirited bronze). It is a little big, but the paint kind of hides it!

Go for the Sigma. It is an inside antenna that mounts on the glass.

The radio and the Sat receiver is made by clarion for Nissan. If you want to use the factory contols for the Sat radio you will need to get the Nissan unit.

Yes they can put the antenna in the car. It is called the Sigma. It goes at the top of the windshield behind the rearview, not under the dash. If you put the antenna under the dash you will not get the signal as there is no way the antenna could "see" the satellite.
