How the @#$% do I get my trunk carpet clean again?!

Yep, the title pretty much sums it up. I went camping this past weekend and have a whole bunch of little leaves and pine needles left in the trunk carpet. I tired using one of those uber-vacuums @ the drive-in car wash, but to no avail. ARGH! How would I best approach this thorny mess?

Wow the car wash vacs didn't work eh? They must really be in the carpet fibers. Sounds like it needs to be physically removed instead of relying on a vacuum.

How about using sticky clear packaging tape? Duct tape could also work. Try taping it around your outstretched four fingers or entire palm/fingers, sticky side out and then press firmly against the carpet lifting the debris out. It might take some time and alot of tape but it seems like it would work in theory.

Or you could also "tape" the floor of your trunk, sticky side down and peel off the tape hopefully lifting the debris with it in the process. Might require repeated attempts.

Keep us posted. Good luck.

Yeah, this might be worthwhile of taking some pics to show how it comes out. It's a shame too, because I had to tape 1/2 of the trunk before I started my fiberglassing project and it looked so clean...

you could just take it home, pull it out, and run the vacuum over it, that'd combine the stiff brush idea with your method.
