What ECU can I use in this car?

Hey guys (and gals),

I need to know what the replacement ECU is for this number and I have no idea whether other ECU's can be used or only this particular number

A18-628-561

There is a guy whose has gone out and this is his number. His car is either a 85 or 86. Guessing, I would say 85. Really nice car, but it has no brains...LOL.

What substitutions can you make? I think it has 73 or 74 stamped on the cover in bold letters.

Thanks!

Bryan

I've found that most of the time, the numbers don't seem to match. So rule of thumb is 85-86 Maxima stick together, 87-88 Maxima stick together.

I've been told that you need to match the large bold number stamped on the ID sticker. If yours has #73, then you should be OK if your replacement also has #73 on it.
