Turn signal side marker add-on
Turn signal side marker add-on
Just curious - has anyone added some type of side marker kit to their car? Something like you see on BMW's or SAAB's and a few other brands, that mount to the front quarter panel behind the front wheel. Or maybe added something on the underside of the side view mirror - instead of the LED's that are behind the mirror. The LED's behind each mirror, although very effective, would be my last resort. I've already re-wired the existing side markers to blink with the turn signals, but I'd like to add the extra signal for those folks who like to ride in my blind spot. Any ideas with experiences would be appreciated.
22nd Anniversary Edition..... oh yeah, anyways, you can probably just go to a body shop or something similar and have them install something like that, but several people have re-wired their side markers (the reflectors/lights located on each side of the front and rear bumpers) so that they blink with their blinkers...you can choose to just re-wire the front, the back, or both...it should be in the stickies...
I've already done the side marker re-wire. It works pretty good, but those bulbs are meant for flashing and aren't very bright. I like the bulb setup some cars have that are situated near the drivers door, either on the quarter panel or side view mirror. When a car next to me has them I really notice it. With all the talk on this site about bulbs, headlights, tailights and more intensity, I thought there would be more response to my question. I may have to settle for the LED's behinds the mirror setup.
