Does anyone know where I can get a Pair of 1" Tweeters, to replace the Crappy BOSE Factory ones???

Anyone Recommend anything?? Brand? Model??

What prices???

I live in Canada so I would prefer Online, OR ... If YOU can get them and ship em over for me!

Thanx in advance,
Eric

you can't just swap speakers in the BOSE system because they have their own amps? correct? I was told that you have to replace the entire system or nothing...

I'm pretty sure the 4th gen will be the same for this ...

Cuz all they did was Unsoder(sp?) the Bose and Install the New one.

Someone said the JBL one was a Perfect fit ...

What???????

No you dont have to replace the whole system if you replace the tweeters. I have never heard of such a thing. A pair of speaker wire is a pair of speaker wires it does not matter what they are hooked up to. In anycase as far as tweeters go hmmm depends on the $$ you have. You can get a good set for around 45.00 or get an awesome pair for 150.00. Just go to a local shop they should have some otherwise try the links page on this site.

this is what my local shop told me: because the bose system has an amp for each speaker, you can't put a regular speaker in because it won't have any power? it made sense to me, but they could be wrong

I think it has to do with the impedance of the speakers and bose amps

Amp on each speaker??????

Um that means since the bose system is what 6 speakers or is it 8 cant remember I dont have it. That means you have 6 amps. That sounds a little fishy to me but I do agree with the ohm thing I did not think about that. Tweeters though you shoudl not hav to worry about plus if they are a lower ohm mayber youll get more power out of those amps

I have heard that BOSE amps run at some stupidly low ohm like .5 or something like that. Of course I could be talking out of my a$$ too

I wired tweeters to my rear...i did this by splicing wires into the bose tweeters in the A-pillar and dreagging the wire all the way to rear deck...it sounds preety good with no distortion. i had to do this cuz there were not much highs in the backseat area cuz of my subs. but now it equals out the sound. so in conclusion, yes you can use aftermarket tweeters with bose system....hope this help.....
