i did a perfect heel toe shift today!
i was on my way back to work and thought i would try it. i felt more confident trying it out b\c recently installed some aftermarket pedals, so they made the accelerator pedal bigger. well, iwas going 50 into a corner on the street in third gear, started to break, turned the corner with the clutch down-and then managed to blip the throttle with my heel, then swithed to second, clutch up and then no jerking while exiting the turn. this rev matching stuff is fun to practice. i feel pretty good, just thought i would share.
that's awesome
but I have a question, my gas pedal is much lower then the brake pedal, so even if I get a bigger gas pedal it would be hard to reach, did you have to do any rising of the gas pedal or dropping of the brake pedal? let me know
That's why you need to heal toe using the side rail of your shoe and not try to get your foot at a 90 degree angle to the left. When I heal-toe shift (i guess technically it can't be called that) I use the left ball of my foot on the brake, and I dip the right ball into the gas to get the revs I need.
I used to do the other heal toe, proper, but a race instructor told me this way is much more effective.
