Lights next to headlights...................?
I was curious about the lights next to the headlights. What are their names(what is it called)? Can I get those in a clear model? What type of bulb is in those lights? I got my HID's and it doesn't look right with those dull lights on the side. Thanks in advance.

they're called the front clearance lights. They are already clear tho, or white, don't think they make them any clearer than that. however, i put blue bulbs in their about a month ago, they are such a b#tch to take off the first time. oh my goodness. so hard.

Just spray a little WD-40 on that ball joint.
They will come out alot easier that way.
No.

Will changing the bulb in the clearance lights, require me to rewire? Can I get this from any auto store?

It will normally run at 5W. The rewire will have it run at 27W(stock) / 21W(most aftermarket bulbs). That way the intensity of the light will come closer to matching the headlight.
What year is your max?
Yes, they are parking lights are they are supposed to be dull. >>

But, there are some here that like to alter the bulb and wiring so that the bulb glows much brighter, much to the inconvenience of other drivers on the road who are unfortunate enough to be driving in a direction perpendicular to them.

I really don't need to make it brighter, I just don't want it to be 2 completely different colors. Can you get the 1157 bulb @ any auto store?

You can get generic ones there, but most people use aftermarket bulbs such as Polarg.
I got mine from www.speedwerks.com
Good luck trying to get the color to match.
Its near impossible.

1157 vs 1156
To my understanding an 1157 bulb is a dual filament bulb, which means it has two filaments, one lights at 5w and the other at 27w. Its like your tail lights, when your head lights are on it is lit at 5w, but when you hit your brakes it lights to 27w=brighter lights. An 1156 bulb is a single filament bulb, it is capable of producing light at a single wattage. Your owners manual tells you what type of bulbs go in each socket. I also thought you can get both of these bulbs in any color. my .02
