Do-It-Yourself Maxima Wiki (encyclopedia for how-to information on repair/tuning)

Do-It-Yourself Maxima Wiki (encyclopedia for how-to information on repair/tuning)

Open to all 1st through 6th Generation Maxima Owners.

I got this idea while seeing how Org users (in particular the 3rd Gen forum) are having to scour discussion threads trying to find a particular symptom or problem they are experiencing with their Maxima. For those who are not familiar with Wikis, they are basically living documents of an encyclopedia where the author is YOU, the Maxima owner/enthusiast. I put up the DIYMW in the attempt to help collect all the information available on the Org, 4DSC.com discussion, and the Internet so that diagnosis, repair, and improving can be made easier. You can upload graphics, PDFs, and/or videos to help explain your Maxima improvement.

DIYMW is FREE (as in beer). It's meant to aide the novice owner who wants to be able to put a little more sound in their Maxima, or the owner that wants to squeeze out a few more horses, or that guy that wants to know just how big his rims under his 6th gen. DIYMW will give credit where credit is due. Anyone who has chased a problem under that hood knows how troublesome it can be to find more information about it.

Visit the Do-It-Yourself Maxima Wiki and help contribute to other owners and enthusiasts as yourself. I'm also recruiting moderators and technicians to make sure the information provided is as accurate as possible.

Help build a library of Maxima information for Maxima owners. Leave the discussion for the Org

...this coming from the biggest post ***** on the org (you). I bet you made this very same post "dude just post...." in all of the forums too, so you're doing the same thing, aren't you?

It is in everyone's interest that he posts this information widely, since most of us don't go onto the lame General forum all that much....

Now, run along back to Off-Topic or the 4th gen boards, and do not again intrude onto the 5th gen boards..... We can deal with our own forum, and don't need your help, thanks.

Hey Irish,

how did you create your page? Did you just "edit" the category and add your text?

Edit the category, and make the title of the particular how-to as a link, using [ ] around the title. Then save. Then back out and click on that link. Then hit edit once you're in the link...

HNDA ETR - my mistake. [ ] is for external links. You are looking to do an "internal link" which uses [[ ]]

I've uploaded all the smaller sections of the 2002/2003 FSM - all the files under 2Mb.

It's not letting me upload any file over 2Mb though... any ideas? I pm'd aksansai a few days ago, but no reply...

I know that Mediawiki (the software that drives DIYMW) has built-in safe guards banning known IP subnets that produce a lot of Wiki-spam (yep, happens there too).

You should, indeed, ask SORBS to re-evaluate your IP address to take it off their blocked list. Otherwise, I'll see what I can do on the DIYMW side.

NOTE It's hard for me to monitor all the pages. Please shoot me a PM or email at (aksansai)(at)(gmail.com).
