Those with 2002 maximas step in

Whats up all,
This is whats going on i own an 01 max ive been hunting for a set of 02 headlamps well i found a set at a salvage yard but heres where **** gets rough the owner of the yard will not sell them to me unless i give him a 2002 vin # so can someone any one help me out PLEASE! you can pm me the #...

Why does the yard owner give a sh*t who buys the parts... Am I missing something here?

why in the world would a junk yard need a vin number. Thats a first time I hear something like that. How much do they want for the lights. I have a set with angel eyes that I can sell you. PM me if interested.

He's covering his butt. TECHNIALLY, it's illegal (everywhere) to install HIDs on a car that didn't come from the factory with them. The 2001 didn't come from the factory with them. Yeah, it's a weak technicality, but the junkyard guy is probably just covering his rear end for some reason. He probably assumes you want the ballasts to convert your halogens, and doesn't realize that the entire assembly will fit just fine in the 01.

What junkyard is this, might I ask? Brandywine? Haven't found any other yards in this area with Maxima stuff in them....
