I was probably on of the first to install the new Cattman Rear Anti-Sway Bar...and let me say I love it. However, I would like to emphasize something I knew but forgot to do. Anytime you make a suspension change to an Independent Rear Suspension vehicle you should always have it re-aligned. The other day I was coming home from my vacation in Florida with one of my buddies behind me in his truck. He radioed me (we used portable C.B.s on the trip home) to let me know my rear left tire looked "kicked in" by about 15 degrees. I immediately knew why. I had my car re-aligned today and they told me the back end was bad (you could definitely tell by the tire wear).

Anyone who has done any suspension work should go have your alignment checked. Its not that expensive!

rear sway bar has nothing to do with alignment.

 

Agreed (unless Nissan has done something very odd...I haven't looked under the car to see).

 

I had my rear sway bar, bushings and bolts replaced on my OLDS delata 88 Royale and never once did a rear alignment, not once, the rear tires never ever looked like they had wear and the car handled straight and took turns like magic.

Sway bar = better handling = no allignmnet problems (EVER!)

Unless Nissa F shizzz up, that should be the norm.

depends on what parts. bars, no. coilovers or springs definately. struts yeah, rear shocks, depends who you ask.

well i remember someone somehow installed it "backwards" and it was all outta whack. but otherwise, have never known of anyone getting an alignment.

 

Just had my struts replaced third time. Nissan Service advisor indicated that they did my alignment as a complimentory service. I said shouldn't be done as complimentory but required when replacing stuts. He said no it wasn't required when struts are redone.

You don't really need to re-align with a strut change, there is no slot for alignment on the strut bodies or spindles. Here is where an alignment maybe needed: The bolt holes are a little bigger then the bolts, this allows the spindle to be mounted an 1/8th inch one direction on one side and an 1/8th the otherway. This would need another alignment if that happened. I bet they did not mark the bolt.
