1996 Maxima > 1991 Ford Probe?

My boy has a 1991 Ford Probe. It is a 5spd and my Maxima is an Auto. We are going up to race a 1/4 sometime soon. Here is a break down:

PROBE:
Catback
Half-azzed cold air intake
5spd
Turbo running at 9psi
Some interior pieces taken out

MAXIMA:
Y-pipe
High Flow Cat/Catback
Auto
Drop Resistor mod
Hacked Intake
Subwoofer

This Probe cannot beat me...

Who is going to win?

any decent turbo car at 9 psi, especially one that weighs less than the max, can beat it. And those ford 5 spds have pretty short gears, so my vote is with the probe, but you can try

I don't know since your an auto (a 5 sp may have a better chance) but who knows race and find out. I would definitaly take out your subs before you race.

You guys need to remember that this is probably the stock turbo in the car. Stock, I belive they have 145 hp and 190 ft/lbs of torque. That torque is at 3500rpm, so unless he's shifting right after 3500, he's not getting nearly 190ft/lbs.

At 9psi, he's probably around 190-200hp at the crank if he's really lucky and a really good tuner. I don't know much about these cars, so i'm just guessing with the hp at 9psi.

Black Maxima, put that airbox back together and I think you have a very good chance of beating the probe.

1st Gen Probe Gts usually run low 15's. (similar to 4th gens) But like most cars with a turbo stock, they respond well to mods. If the Probe is running well then I'd put my money on him. sorry. If you were 5-speed then it would be alot closer though...

I used to have a turbo probe and turbo MX6 and turbo 626 (all the same engine and transmission), my money is on the probe.

He's from conneticut. GO PROBE! It's got a Turbo d0000d, and he's got like 600lbs less than you! But it's a Ford, so maybe there's a recall they never made and you'll get the WIN!

What does being from CT have to do with anything? He only listed the sub because it adds weight to a car. So he was stating it so people know he has an extra 60lbs in the trunk.

A 4th gen GXE weighs about 100lbs LESS than a 91 probe GT does...

Really? Do you have any proof? That right there would shut him up. HEHEHE Get the EF out of here with your red probe with a big slab of bondo on the side.
