Ideal Revs to maintain for best fuel economy

hi,

I dont have enough experience with or knowledge of manual transmissions, though I drive one now... tell me, to obtain the best fuel economy in city driving, at what RPM should i keep my engine
So far, i keep it between 2.2K - 3K rpm

What about you?

Secondly, i just got the car serviced as recommended by Nissan for 120K (same as a 30K), and a few days later the engine service light came on.. i'm thinking its the O2 sensor moreover, my fuel economy is not as good! are they related? Any advice?

thanks

1. 2-3k is a good shift-point for daily driving/fuel economy

2. O2 sensor (front ones) will affect fuel economy.

3. Read the stickies - pull the codes stored in the ECU and post back with them.

There is another thread on shift point, it should be on the first page or 2nd. In a nut shell shift before 3K and your fine.

Check the stickes and pull the codes for you Check engine light. Interpret the code, and repair.

To monitor the main cat and/or to be used when one of the front O2 sensor fails.
