Side molding all scrathed and gouged??

I've had my 02 Maxima for 9 months now and the front driver and passenger door side moldings look horrible!! You can easily see where thoughtless morons have hit the moldings with their car doors and either nicked, scratched, or even GAUGED the moldings. At least they are doing their jobs and protecting the door from dings and dents.

I don't know what it is with this car but no car that I have ever owned has been hit by other doors SO FREAKING much. Just the other day I was sitting in my car and some ******* parked next to me in a Ford F150 and hit my car with his door. He's was lucky that there was no damage or scratch because I was about blow up when I jumped out of the car.

Has anyone else experienced this problem with these moldings? I think it's either the paint is on them sucks or the plastic is too soft because there is serious gouge in one of them. How difficult is it to replace these things and how much would it cost to get new ones painted?

Thanks for your help!

Mine has the same problem, but believe it or not, our Vibe is even worse. The dang thing is only about 3 months old, and it's got all kinds of gauges...

The mouldings are about $100 each and they come prepainted from the manufacturer. I think the mouldings have clips and adhesive on them. Pretty easy to swap out.
