Bose Wire Colors '96
Bose Wire Colors/New HU install/Not Noob Question
Hello Orgers. I have a '96 Bose system but my CD player on my HU died. I have been trying to connect the bose speakers to the low level output of my Sony HU but I can't seem to find the CORRECT wire colors anywhere. I've been to installdr, carstereohelp, etc. Nowhere seems to have the correct wire colors. There are two white connectors. One small and on larger. 10 on one and 6 on the other. There aren't many wire with stripes on them. Please help.
EDIT: I did go to carstereohelp and I found a page that has connectors that look like mine. However, they just show the wires by placement and not by color. I used this diagram to connect the power wires and ground wires of the Sony HU. The HU powers on but I get no sound when I connect the wire leads or when I connect the low level output rca's. Am I doing' something wrong?

I'm using the stock wire harness. I cut the wires and spliced them. I cut the wires that go to the connector that plugs directly into the HU.
That post is exactly what I used as reference and those wire colors don't match at all.
EDIT: I also have the PAC OEM2 unit. I still will need to know the wire colors.

Well at least you read the sticky. Thats good.
Spend 10-15 bucks and buy a wiring harness that connects to the OEM one, that you can connect to, instead of mangling the stock wiring. 100% easier and your wiring will match up color to color.

Id still buy the 7550 harness from a local shop if you still have your factory end. This will guarantee you get your colors right, since all aftermarket colors are the same you can just match up the pins of each plug. Then return the harness when done.
I just found out that there is a wire on the pinout that says "amp on signal". If this is not connected will I not get any sound? Do I need to connect this to a 12volt signal?
Ok. It was the amp wire. I forgot to connect it. Sounds okay without the PAC interface. Im going to connect it with the interface and how how much better it sounds. Thanks guys.
