Car vibration/shudder from 35-50mph??
Hey guys, I recently had my CV boot & axle on my passenger side replaced and car drove great for a week until this weekend. Car runs fine, however when tranny shifts after 30-35 mph the front of the car starts vibrating/shuddering. It is not very noticeable, especially if I am driving on a bumpy road or something. It seems like it stops at 50-60 but I can't really tell. I am wondering what is going on as my car has been extremely smooth while accelerating until now and am curious to see if it has anything to do with the axle that was replaced. Any input is appreciated. Thanks!
Could be the axle. I had a similar situation on another car. Turns out my struts had blew as well so even though the axle cured my major vibration issue I still ended up with another vibration/shudder issue I couldn't figure out. It ended up being one blown strut.
hmmm...i wouldn't think it's a strut as i just put on my D2's about a month ago. If it is then these are the biggest pieces of ****. Oh well, taking the car in to the shop tomorrow, maybe they'll be able to help.
Are you sure the vibration is isolated to a specific speed range (30mph-50mph), or could the vibration be related to a specific RPM range regardless of what speed the car is actually traveling?
Does that question make sense? I'm not sure.
Basically, I'm asking whether you've made sure that the problem occurs just because you hit 35mph or if it happens whenever you hit whatever RPM correlates to a vehicle speed of about 35mph in the gear that you're in.
