Removing back coil packs

Well, I am changing my plugs for the first time on my own....easy as hell but for the back coil packs they are angled too much to pull them out...plus the strut bar is in the way.

I saw on the How to's that the person actually unplugged the coil pack to remove it unlike with the front packs....how the hell do you unplug the connections......It is just like the windows switches....it is a ***** to press the button down and try to pull it.....do you guys know of any tools that can help pull coil pack connection out? I just can't get a good grip on it...

you might have to unbolt the thing obstructing the rear right coil pack, then bolt it back when done.

You'll have to remove that bracket (2 nuts) to get Cyl #5 coil pack off. You might have to pull the FSTB off too...

yea... got the bracket off..Also used gloves but still didn't provide enough grip..just couldn't unplug the coil packs.....Somehow I did it with some plyers and being extremely careful not to apply much pressure...Car runs a lot smoother now! thx for the replies.

Get a screw driver, push in the green part all the way in until it's stuck there with out you having to apply pressure to keep it there. It will "click" when you reached the release point. Then it should just pop off. It actually makes a "pop" sound. And the rest...do what njmodi said. That coil pack that's farthest to the right, closest to the firewall. You need to remove that metal bracket that's on top of the coil. Two nuts, 12mm I believe.

take off the fstb. unbolt everything else that's in the way. It should be cake. You can pull the switch out with pliers.

I'm with tavarish! Pliers are your friend with the rear coils.
