Car wont start, wtf is going on?

I had the car running, pulled into mcdonalds, turned the car off. pretty normal, then get back in, try to start it up, starts to crank slowly and dies. After that, all i get is a click everytime i try to crank it up. What is going on here? Jumping the battery didnt work. Checked my fuses and they were good.

maybe your starter is shorted...my friends civic had the almost same problem, the starter ground wire somehow wasnt screwed right on to the actual ground terminal, so it would sometimes start and sometimes die and not even start with a jump...

Almost the exact same thing happened to me with my 95 Max.

Wife went into the store, came back out. Suddenly, nada. Engine wouldn't even crank, just click.

Dealership replaced the starter.

Been good ever since.

I say battery. Get it tested at Advance Auto or similar. Similar thing happened to me years ago in my Hardbody truck, except I had stopped at Hardees for lunch. Had absolutley no forewarning or anything. It wouldn't turn at all and it couldn't be bump started. Was tough enough jumping it off.

He got the battery tested and it's fine. I told him to try shorting the starter to see if it turns over, it doesn't.

forget the starter

TRY BATTERY FIRST!....dont even bother jumping it..put a brand new one in, chances are that it WILL start..if not THEN start knocking the starter

: your starter a few times ...

But since you stated it cranked slowly then dies, sounds battery related. How about interior lights, are tehy working .. etc?

Check and clean all ground points.

If your a 5-speed, doesnt matter how dead the battery is, you can pop the clutch and start it up.

same thing happened to me...first i thought it was the battery and had that replaced but then the car died again, and all i get is a little click, click sound

it's the starter...$150 plus core exchange at autozone.....make sure u count the teeth on the starter, mine's had 10...napa had a starter but it had 11 teeth....not sure if that makes a different but i went with the 10

If you get a single click, its your starter. If you get multiple clicks along with flashing dash board warning lights, its your charging system.
