to all orgers that painted spark plug covers...

what kind of paint did you guys use and what web site can i order it from i am in the middle of polishing my valve cover. i have already sanded my spark plug cover now i need recommendations for: primer, Black glossy Paint, and a chrome or nice silver paint for the letters. or maybe a sick mettalic gunmetal high heat paint anyone have any suggestions thanks in advance. i love the org

go to autozone, or strauss, or pepboys and get some high temp engine enamel paint, i think duplicolor makes it

duplicolor works great. Thats what most people use.

u'll find it cheaper at walmart

duplicolor high temperature engine paints...they carry one up to 500 F and also one up to 1200 F i think

Painted mine with duplicolor ( I call that part the "valve cover") , the 500f one I believe. Turned out great. You don't even have to clear coat it. I gave it about 5 coats total. When the paint completely drys, you'll see a white haze. Polish that with just a rag and it will bring out the shine. Even if you decide to clear coat it, just make sure you give it a quick polish with a cotton rag.

i used graphite wheel paint on mine and it looks factory. tape off the V6 3000 thing and paint the rest. looks so much better.

well i am done sanding mine and am going to buy Black duplicolor paint and a can of silver or chrome high temp paint for the latters and a gunmetal grey for the previously black line on the cover.

i had a buddy of mine paint it at a shop he worked at....he did it for free.....red paint, with silver bar and red airbrushed letters with coats of clear on top.

i used vaseline on the letter so the paint wouldnt stick. im not really goin for show quality and it looks pretty damn good and worked even better. just wait for the paint to completely dry (i waited a day) and just scrape it off with your finger nails. sure beats takin all that time to tape off everything. i only saved the NISSAN though

i was cleaning up my VC and accidentally stripped the paint, the plug cover is a really nasty yellowish color, but i just sprayed it black temporarily, im gonna airbrush it sometime....
