Idea on modification of stock intake system

I dono if this has maybe been thought up before or what so im starting a thread. Im planing on making up this intake where it would just be an extension of the snorkle but with another source of cold air going to it. Basically take the stock box and hack that on the right side facing the car (i know thats been done). But then where the resonator is below the battery tray i took that off and will use what that is normally connected to and then under the car mount another snorkle upside down connecting to the original snorkles bottom. So that way when you are driving the cold air would kinda of come in from both places and then you would have the hole in the stock box for the short kind of hot air. Heres a link to my cardomain to show you kind of where im talking about and i think i might need to take a pic of the snorkle just so you can see the one part that goes downward to where the resonator box would hook up.

Any ideas on how this would work out, should i even waste my time, or has it been tried before. Thanks for the input

Just take out the resonator box under the battery tray and drill a few holes in the side that faces twards the inner fender. That gives the stock setup another place to draw air into the system. Works great, I've had mine modded for a while now. There is no additional noise, nobody can see it so the engine bay remains clean and the gains are huge. Seriously don't bother with another tube, you only need to open up the stock setup slightly so the VQ can breath better up into the higher RPM's.
