I get a sour, silicone smell from my vents when I start the car or just turn the fans on when I am sitting. What could it be?

 

this one's in the faqs. it's most likely mold growing inside the vents. spray some lysol into the outside vents(located under the windshield wipers). then turn on your heat using the outside air option in order to open up those outside vents and open your windows to allow the car to air out.

 

+1 on that ^^^ that usually will get rid of it if it is mold

make sure you spray alot in the vent

 

Lysol does not kill the mold in your evaporator, it only masks the problem.
