Fuel Pump Relay

Just have a quick question...which relay is the fuel pump? I'm aware of where the fuel pump relay is supposed to be located...it's supposed to be behind the kick panel on the left side of the driver's side footwell (according to Hayne's). I took the panel off, but there's lots of wiring/plugs, etc. so I'm not exactly sure which one is the fuel pump relay. Could anyone help me out with a picture or something? I'd really appreciate it. I need to unplug it and depressurize the fuel system so I can replace the fuel filter and this is all that's hanging me up. Thanks in advance!

I left all realys/fuses intact

I replaced my fitler w/o remocing it as you still get fuel leaking out and some run off with it in or out (fuse) The back of the kick panel that comes off and exposes the fuses should have had a key diagram on it relating what is where etc ... Or under the armerest.

I'll be honest, I wouldn't take it out if you cannot find it, screw it .. it's only a small amount of fuel anyway ... less than $0.50 dollars

Ehh...alright. I wasn't there there were diagrams. I didn't see any on the kick panel when I took it out. Don't think there's any on my armrest either Either way, if you're saying it's no big deal that I leak some, then I may just leave it in.

I worry about gas being in my engine bay though

If you are careful to remove all intake components, the only place the fuel will flow is under the car ... on the pavement.

And even if you did remove the relay or fuse, there's still some that leaks out ... I noticed no difference when doing it both ways (that sounds bad)

All you have to do is take the fuse for the fuel pump out and then try to start the car a few times to drain out as much fuel as possible. It will still leak a little, but if your do this it won't be as much.

That doesn't help me at ALL. I said I know how to do it, I just don't know which fuse is the fuel pump. I need a picture or something...

Use the key in back of the cover for the fuse box, just above your left knee.

Mine has a sticker on it with a "key map" staing where all fuses are and their duty (i.e IGN, HLGHTS, HORN, FUEL etc)

Here's a pic of the fuse panel.

On the bottom of my picture (really far right, since it's on an angle), 6th up from the bottom. It's a 15 amp fuse (blue), in position 32. That's the fuel pump fuse.

Guess it was a good idea after all to take pics of all the relay boxes/fuse panels, didn't even have to leave my chair to find it

I think I see which one you mean. Don't you mean "really far left" though, not right? I've never seen this fuse panel though...the Haynes told me it wasn't even part of the normal fuse panel Whatever, I'll find it. Thanks!

It's right above your left knee, and the cover to tht panel has each corresponding fuse and it's circuit printed on a sticker pasted on the inside cover

Yeah I found it. Took it out, relieved the fuel pressure, took off the EGR tube...and then took a look at where the fuel filter is. I had no idea it was so far down in the engine bay

How do you guys get down in there to undo the clamps? I mean I see where everything is, and I know what to do now, but how the hell do I get a screwdriver down in there? I don't even have particularly large hands, I'm just wondering how to fit a screwdriver and my hand in such a tiny, out-of-the-way space.

A small ratchet type screw driver did the trick for me.
Have to climb in there, be sure not to rest on the ehadlight b/c it may get out of aim.
