If I went back to stock manifold, would I still need a tune as badly?

Hey yall,
I drive a 98 5-speed with JWT ECU, MEVI, Y & B pipes, UDP and intake and I was wondering if getting a SAFC-II would be as necessary if I switched back to the USIM manifold.

sweet. Hey Zach I dynoed tonight. I'll try to send you the files. The JWT ECU gave me 6 WHP and 11 WTQ. There is something really wrong with my car though. We had to open the MEVI manually and my #'s were STILL way off! I'd like to hear your comments on them.

I can send my scanned Dyno to whoever can post it. My #'s are at LEAST 15WHP and 10WTQ low with the VI being manually opened. I'm not even going to post the Dynos where the VI didn't open because they are very close to stock #'s.
Something is messed up on my car.

I'm gonna go ahead and send them to Mdeezy because I don't have the run files yet, I just scanned the laminated Dyno sheet to JPEG form....it would be a sweet comparison though. I'll see if I can get them.

Yep, those are typical numbers for a USDM manifold. With your mods and the MEVI, I would say you should be getting 190-200fwhp.

Have you checked knock sensor, plugs, coil packs, misc. maintenance items? Your A/F ratio should not be causing that much power loss.

In the last 6 months I have changed spark plugs, coil packs, and fuel filter.
My Knock Sensor was changed right before I bought this car. (50k ago) and I'm not getting a code for it either. Shoot, I don't know what else to check for...

On my dyno:

The top line is with JWT ECU and the bottom is with Stock ECU. Bijan manually opened the MEVI on both runs.

I just sent an email to the DynoLab. I know my power is down because before the MEVI and JWT ECU I pulled 178.5 WHP and 190.5 WTQ!!

Anyone care to speculate what is going on with my car???

Do you have an air leak around the manifold? gasket installed incorrectly, blocking the path of the air? It could be tons of things. Does the car drive and run perfectly normal under all other conditions?

Is this the same dyno as you have made your other dyno runs on?

Bruce, dont feel bad, we'll figure this mother out, and make it more powerful.
This video is to serve the purpose of comparison of USIM and my mods vs. his and what problems he may have. See for yourself...

That is the same dyno that I have gone to every time, it seems to work fine for me.

The switch over is too early. Move it to 5000-5200. Car need full tune up?

Just replaced the MEVI gaskets 2 months ago. I had JAY25 help me with it. Somedays it runs ALOT better than others I mean there is like a night and day difference sometimes.

Yeh it's the same dyno, they wanted a $100 for the AFR so I couldn't get that done this time.
I haven't done a compression test but I figured since I put a low mileage motor in last year that it should be ok? I will definately look into it though.

Well that's a possibility but it doesn't "feel" any different than before gas prices went crazy. (I even added one of those "octane boosters" before I dynoed )
