Found out why battery dies everyday, what now???

I broke my trunk a while back and i never actually got it fixed , i just tied it down with something for the time being. so my battery starts to die a little while after that, but i'm puzzled because i just had purchased a new optima red top battery and that absolutely shouldn't be happening at that stage. so today after getting a jumpstart i look into the trunk through the back seat to see if maybe it's my trunk light causing the battery to die and come to find out, that's exactly what it is!! my question now is how do i disable it?? what fuse or such should i take out, if indeed that is the solution. only other solution would be to get my trunk fixed which isn't a possiblity at this particular point in time. any help would be much appreciated.

I don't think that that tiny trunk light would be able to drain a red top in 1 day. Why not just take the bulb out and run with no trunk light until you can get it fixed if that's the problem.

I might be wrong but if you take out the fuse ,it is connected to the interior lights also. I believe it says it on the fuse cover what fuse it is.

it didn't drain the battery in one day, in fact it lasted exceptionally long i think, being that my car wouldn't start a week or so after i intially broke my trunk, then it finally lost it's bout with the little miniature bulb, (it was like a leech sucking the life outta my car slowly but surely). so if i simply took out the 194 bulb in the trunk it would do the trick??

just remove the bulb, but yea it seems like a red top optima shouldnt die from that. Hell ive left my system on all night and not had the battery die and im just running a deep cycle from les schwabb (1000 cca)

Remove the bulb and you don't have a complete circuit, so the batt will not drain.
