Hey Guys,

My front, passenger window has major problems going up (goes down fine). It goes up slighty ajar and really slowly, barely managing to close itself.

I've tried all of this stuff already:

1) I sprayed silicone grease in the tracks. Helped only slightly for a day or two.
2) I sprayed WD40 in the tracks a few weeks later. Did nothing.
3) I bought a new window regulator and motor. This was even worse! The original motor was actually more powerful than the aftermarket replacement motor, which was even slower and sometimes unable to get the window all the way up! So I returned that part. The original motor is still strong.

So, it seems like there is friction, but the tracks are clean, lubed, and have no obstructions. Could the window tracks themselves have gotten warped? Anyone have the same problem?

 

Try replacing it with a stock regulator..

You can try unscrewing the Motor from the regulator and manually put the window up and down with your hand inside the door frame and look for any type of resistance your getting...

 

i know grounding kits make the windows roll up a little more faster, i dont know if that would help?

 

That's an extremely reasonable suggestion. I will definitely try that to see if the window track is the problem because all of the moving parts seem to be working just fine.

As for using a new stock regulator, well, I put an entirely new regulator/motor assembly in there and it didn't make a difference. Sure it was aftermarket, but that shouldn't have been an issue. The stock replacement parts are highly overpriced ($90 for regulator, $200 for motor) versus the aftermarket parts ($75 for regulator and motor assembly, or $36 for the regulator alone) and don't appear to be very different in terms of quality (albeit the motor seemed slightly weaker, but hey, Nissan's motor cost over $200 from the dealer - what a rip!)
