Sept 22 - No Gas day!

Sorry for the Caps, this is how i received the email. Sorry if this is in the wrong forum!

IT HAS BEEN CALCULATED THAT IF EVERYONE IN AUSTRALIA (US as well) DID NOT PURCHASE A DROP OF PETROL FOR ONE DAY AND ALL AT THE SAME TIME, THE OIL COMPANIES WOULD CHOKE ON THEIR STOCKPILES.

AT THE SAME TIME IT WOULD HIT THE ENTIRE INDUSTRY WITH A NET LOSS OVER 4.6 BILLION DOLLARS WHICH AFFECTS THE BOTTOM LINES OF THE OIL COMPANIES.

THEREFORE THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 22nd HAS BEEN FORMALLY DECLARED "STICK IT UP THEIR ****" DAY AND THE PEOPLE OF THIS NATION SHOULD NOT BUY A SINGLE DROP OF PETROL THAT DAY. THE ONLY WAY THIS CAN BE DONE IS IF YOU FORWARD THIS E-MAIL TO AS MANY
PEOPLE AS YOU CAN AND AS QUICKLY AS YOU CAN TO GET THE WORD OUT.

WAITING ON THE GOVERNMENT TO STEP IN AND CONTROL THE PRICES IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE REDUCTION AND CONTROL IN PRICES THAT THE ARAB NATIONS PROMISED TWO WEEKS AGO?

REMEMBER ONE THING, NOT ONLY IS THE PRICE OF PETROL GOING UP BUT AT THE SAME TIME AIRLINES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES, TRUCKING COMPANIES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES WHICH EFFECTS PRICES ON EVERYTHING THAT IS SHIPPED. THINGS LIKE FOOD, CLOTHING, BUILDING SUPPLIES MEDICAL SUPPLIES ETC. WHO PAYS IN THE END? WE DO!

WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. IF THEY DON'T GET THE MESSAGE AFTER ONE DAY, WE WILL DO IT AGAIN AND AGAIN.

SO DO YOUR PART AND SPREAD THE WORD. FORWARD THIS EMAIL TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW. MARK YOUR CALENDARS AND MAKE SEPTEMBER 22nd
A DAY THAT THE CITIZENS OF AUSTRALIA "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH".

You go ahead. Then on September 23rd twice as many cars line up because they need the gas they didn't buy the day before. And they would have raised the prices because of this.

If you want to hurt the oil companies, stop driving your car.

Funny how there have supposedly been 5-6 of these "days" and yet the oil companies are still in business

this incredibly terrible logic has never worked.

say no one gets gas one day. all they need to to is add $.05 to the price until they make the money back. go ahead, let's see how long you can hold out.

Read a news article today that has finally fixed the boycott days business

Keep buying their petrol BUT DON'T BUY THEIR snacks, drinks, cigarettes, car accessories etc.. this is where they make alot of their profit.. not on the gas so much.

Just plain foolish.

Why not buy twice as much gas on the 22nd, maybe they'll drop the price!

Yeah I heard that one today too and I think it will have more effect on the individual stations but the oil companies could care less.

They normally do depend heavily on the walk in sales when they're only making 4 cents a gallon. But right now they're raking in 30-40 cents a gallon, and were doing so before the hurricane hit.
