Those with shaved antennas...

Im thinkin of getting my antenna shaved when I get my car painted, but I already get terrible reception with the antenna down. Do you guys have the same problem?..If so, what do you do? Have any of you invested in a smaller antenna...

there is the secondary antenna which is in the glass of the rear window. although, is that only AM? I think that both antennas are AM/FM. odd that your reception is so bad. Mine doesn't go up quite all the way, but I get fine recepion.

he's in general, not a gen. specific forum. although, from his member name, I would think he has an 03. My advice in my previous post above ^^^ refers to 4th gen only, I suppose.

do 5th and 6th not have external antennas?

No, last ones were the 4th gen. The back window is a poor substitute in marginal areas but my current 6th gen is slightly better than my also current 5th gen when they are side by side in my driveway. There was a similar post on one of the other forums about the metallic coating of window tints affecting reception.

Well actually I have a 4 gen.... I dunno, it seems like my reception goes in and out when the antenna is down(especially on the highway) Is there anything I could get to make the reception better if I decide to go ahead and shave antenna? Or should I just leave it on...
