Cattman Fast Cat question.
Cattman Fast Cat question.
I just got my Cattman Fast-Cat for a 2000 Max.
Does it matter what dircetion it goes?
I know the heatsheild goes up but the canister is offset .
I'm not sure it should favor the front or back.
Thanks, Mike
ps. the quality of this thing is great.
3/8 thick flanges, good quality Stainless and great welding.
It looks like a test pipe with a bubble in it (some kind of honeycomb filter)

It has a canister with the honeycomb stuff in it.

I have a 2000 Cali-spec and it is a true Cat.
It kinda looks like this but much thicker SS and with flanges.
It'a also a direct fit no a universal. The flanges are rotated like the OE.

I've got the Cattman Fastcat. You should install it with the offset narrow end towards the y-pipe, with the heatshield facing down. This is so you dont light grass or something on fire...You will have a break-in period where you will hear the cat "clicking" for a few weeks at times.
I am pretty happy w/it, its going to be slightly louder than stock, especially because it's directly under the front seats. Also, while the cat itself is stainless, the flanges are not and do rust. I suggest using stainless bolts if they did not come with your cat...All in all though, it's a pretty good product.

I bought one and put it on about a month ago. Direction doesn't matter. BTW: it helped a little, but I think most of the kick i got was from the 17 degree timing advance in my 3.5. I replaced my cat because I killed the stocker. Bad kitty. Bad, bad kitty...
