Strut Mount / Strut Bearing

I looked around the whole strut/spring thread as well as the forum and couldnt seem to find this.

I just bought Tokico illumina and Tein H. Springs for my 2000 maxima and im going to be installing them soon and need some suggestions. I have checked out all the sites and suggestions on how to install it (thanks housecor .. great site). But, Im thinking if I should buy any additional parts for the installation suh as strut mount strut bearing..

by the way my car has 100,000 miles.

I would appreciate suggestions

thanks

You should probably replace the strut mount bearings, they are probably toast by now anyway, and they are cheap. You will need new shock dust boots as well.

You have an 03... you should be fine, unless you have a zillion miles on it.....

cool, thanks. i have been pondering cutting the bumpstops about 1/2 or 3/4 of an inch. houscor's poll is inconclusive, but most people lean towards cutting them. what are the downsides of cutting TOO much off? i dont think 3/4" is too much, but still...

i think the blues come with some new hardware. should i get aftermarket dust boots, or something at a dealer?
any other hardware to replace? i am going to be taking everything apart agin, and using h&rs and blues this time, so i can swap anything that needs it.

Buy what? Struts?

There is a Sticky with many links to sellers online that Irish44J compiled; they are all sites that people here have used, so look for that... you can also Google it or search on eBay and compare prices....

I think he was addressing the original thread starter....

And no, there is nothing else to replace and you don't need any hardware... if you really want dustboots (even though I see no need to change em) you can either get OEM or KYB boots. One thing to do is to grease the strut bearing before you replace it.

Call Courtesy parts, tell them you need two front strut bearings and all 4 bumpstop/dustboots for the struts.
