9" wide rear wheels 4th gen

Anyone have 9" wide rear wheels on their 4th gen? What offset are you running? Any rubbing?

Why are so many people asking about staggered setups now? Seems like they realize the benefits after b!tching about it for so long! If you want wider wheels, you'll have to go measure your car and do some homework on what fits.
After seeing Top elment's wheel/tire setup, people started copying his style. First DpgShortee, now Ewuzh! Be original people!

Still not original. The Top Element guys have already done 9" front, 8.5" rear. Stiffer front sidewall gives sharper response, but less progressive breakaway.

I was joking about that. And top element was not the reason everyone has jumped on the staggered setup bandwagon. There have been tons of people who have done that setup over the years on this site.

Hell the only reason i got a set of staggered volks is becuase i paid $1100 for a brand new set

The reason I asked is because I had found a deal on some 17x8 and 17x9's, not because I actually want 9" wide for the rears. Ideally, I want 17x8 all around with a +35 offset. Saves me money on tires anyway.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWA%3AIT

the only other auction on those color wheels where 17x9s all around and i didnt wanna risk rubbing on the front. I never knew there was a patent on having staggered setups on a Maxima.

check the pictures under my sig.... I ran the Enkeis off my Z32 for a few weeks... 17x8.5 +40 255/40/17 and 17x9.5 +38 275/40/17 no rubbing .... looks cool but I'm sure at the limit handling would result in massive understeer.

hey z32...your 255 up front didn't rub even with the steering wheel turned all the way? aka U-turns?

never had a problem with rubbing from the 255s on either of my wheel setups. I don't know about the 5th gen but 4th gens have adjustable steering stoppers..... so you can eliminate slight rubbing with a simple adjustment.
BTW I haven't made any adjustment to the my stoppers but I could if needed.

z32, thanks for the assurance that these rims will fit...

I'm thinkin of stickin some 18's under those fenders instead of z32's 17s...i did the tire calculation and 255/35/18 is a perfect fit compared to the 215/60/15 on stock SE's....this is most likely my route...but i might be forced to use spacers if my certain wheels don't come in the correct offset
