I remember someone owning a 95-96 Maxima (which have the analog odometer) convert to a 97-99 guage cluster and was abelt o dial int he correct miles and whatnot....Can someone instruct me where to go....the search is wokring properly for me...Thank you in advance!

Can anyone help me?! My RPM gauge in my Maxima is dead and have just purchased a 98 gauge cluster to replace the dead one....It would be valuable to me to have a odometer. So, if ANYONE has any info on what to do, besides buy the correct gauge cluster, I would greatly appreciate that!

I tried searching and it has been done. The guys name is something along the line of jnotofthisworld. It sounds like you have to splice all the wires together from the digital to analog cluster. I couldn't find a write up on it though

U can take it apart and use the rpm gauge from the 98( the insides) and take apart the older one and they should be the same. The only difference inside I believe is the speedo gauge w/ digital other than that i think they are the same.

 

negative. I have had both mine side by side and everything is different on the inside.
Joe, 98seblackmax did the swap. he used the plugs from the 98-99 gauges with the gauges. he swapped every wire and used a square wave generator to simulate the speed sensor. he ran the odometer for months to get it right. which you can only add miles, no rolling back. oh and you need to splice constant voltage to keep the trip meters from reseting.

 

I think I have the harness. I have a 98 and bought a 98 and the person that I got it from included the harness. PM me for an offer.

 

, it was pinned at 140 mph for a month straight, lol. he said it was a lot of wiring, and motocross, jnotofthisworld is his aim name.
