Just wondering if you guys get any knock reading whatsoever at idle? I just hooked up the knock feature on my PLX R500, it is set up just to give a raw voltage output (0.0-5.0V). I just started the car and I'm getting no reading whatsoever. 0.0V still. Is this normal or should there be at least some activity?

FSM says it should say 2-3v. But I have read that most people dont get any usable data from the KS using SAFC and things similar to that.
When I first got my TS ecu with the increased timing advance, I ran with my DVM plugged into the ecu harness measuring knock sensor ouput relative to ground. Once the engine was warmed up, it would stabilize at 2.39 V and never fluctuate.
I agree with eng92. I've got my KS inputted to my EU and it stays right around 2.3v. If you're not getting any signal, it's either the unit you're using or something's not hooked up/set up properly.
I'm going to try running a long wire directly to the wire coming off the KS. Right now I've got it tapped at the KS wire on the ECU harness. Maybe the wire is disconnected somewhere and I just don't know it.
Just a suggestion but you could check the circuit with a continuity tester or multimeter first... it would tell you the same thing without having to run wires. Or at least physically measure the voltage on the tapped wire at the ECU. That would tell you if the KS circuit's good and the PLX is not reading or displaying it properly...
