Seat Shifting = Annoying

Anyway we have a cooler and my mom told me to guy one of those big bottles for the cooler. I went and got it and I put it behind my seat and in order for it not to move I pushed the seat into it. Now since then when I stop at a stop sign the seat shifts foward and when I go it shifts back. I have electric seats on it I dunno how that happens.

bump because my seats are creaking bc of the springs inside. everytime i sit <creeeaak>

as for the shifting, have you checked all the bolts mounting the seat bracket to the floorboard?

If the bolts bolted to the floorboard were the problem, his seat would come right out of the floor.

Sounds like the seats are shifting on the rails. If you push/pull on the front seat from the back can you see/feel the front one move? Do the rails move?

You may have to take the seat out and look from underneath. You my have damaged the gears that drive the power seat adjustment. Try an inspection mirror first.

Never force your seat motors.

this exact thing happened to me when i had my jeep...

the creeak sound you hear is the metal springs rubbing with something else metal...

in my jeep i had someone sit in the seat as i looked under the seat to see where it was coming from...i saw the spring that was loose and rubbing with the seat bracket when i sat down in the seat..

what i did to fix it was...i simply jammed a wad of paper in between the loose spring and seat frame and taada..

kbmax-mine did the same thing. It wsas the lumbar. I pried off the back panel- CARFULLY- ( you can seriously screw up the panel if you are rough with it. Feel around with a large serving fork until you feel the locking pins and once you get all 4 of them, I THINK, pull the panel in a downward motioin as there are tabs on the top. I sprayed mine with wd 40 and have not have a problem since.
