hey i don't understand wat the hell is goin on with my car. its a 99 se-l with only 79k on it. today it was driving all weird and stalling. then later i came back and the CEL was on with a maf code. i cleared it and it drives fine now and the code hasn't come back even after starting the car 5 times. wtf is goin on.... y is it giving me a code and driving weird and stalling and then driving fine???

 

when the ecu is reset it takes about 200 mile to run thru its cycle before it will throw a cel again. Just because you reset and the code doesnt come back immediately doesnt mean something isnt wrong.

Your MAF sensor is starting to give incorrect signals causing your engine to run incorrectly. The ECU has detected that the signals are out of the acceptable range, thus the CEL light has been turned on.

You have two choices......
1) Wait till it dies altogether and leaves you with a car you can't drive.
OR
2) Listen to what your ECU is telling you and replace the MAF now and don't worry about getting stuck somewhere.

Personally I'd choose #2, but thats just me.
