209k and still running factory belts

As the days get a little cooler, I've been wondering should I just go ahead and change em or leave em be. I've run my own inspection of em and can't say that they look at all bad, but looks can be decieving Im sure. They don't squeal or anything BUT they DID about 2 winters ago. I hear the job isn't too tuff but still a pain in the a$$. Between school and work I'll admit that Im just a little lazy about the whole thing. Can't really justify touch'n em right now, so thought I'd fish around for thoughts.

Also wondering if belts would need to be replaced on a 1999 with 111,000 miles.

Wow, you've still got on the original belts. So do I on my 95, but its only got 61K on it. They were recently inspected, there is no squeal (nor has there ever been) and I'm still good to go.

Do the belts not have any cracks or other evident deterioration? I would be inclined to change them at that mileage.

Have you ever changed any of the hoses? Same story, there may be a need for replacement there as well.

The last thing you want is to be stranded on the side of the road somewhere.

Just went over the 200k mark and am thinking about getting the belts changed too. As far as I know they're the original ones. They've squeeled a few times over the years but it's always been the tension bolt getting loose.

Need to do my bi-annual coolant and tranny flush anyway..Guess I'll have them change the belts and check the hoses while it's in the shop.

Nope, no cracks and they feel about as elastic as the replacement belts I baught last year. I've thought of the whole stranded thing too, but to be honest it doesn't really bother me, especially if I have an idea of what the problem might be and how to fix it. I dunno....maybe I'll just bite the bullet and swap em during the next holiday break.

yeah i just had mine replaced and it was one of those only squeels when cold and sometimes it will sometimes it wont and i inspected and found no damage to the belt but that dosent mean some part that uses the belts might have gotten loose over the years makin your belts squeel so it good to have then tightend and while u have that done u might as well replace them.

The thing about belts is they always break at night on some road, when you don't have the belt!! My advice on the 200k belt ride is to change the belts now. At least when you change them it will be on your terms when and where you WANT to change them.
111k ride at least buy the belts and put them in the trunk. They will probably last a lot longer. But at least they will be in your trunk in case they break. JMHO BTW, I changed mine at 97k and they were not squealing. $16 every 100k miles.
